If you’re interested in simplifying your finances, it’s worth taking a look at what’s in your wallet. How many different cards and pieces of paper do you keep handy? Most things fall into 1 of 4 categories:
    1. Cards – Bank, credit, loyalty and identification
    2. Receipts
    3. Cash
    4. Reminders

Keeping the cards to a minimum can be a challenge but here are a few ways it can be done. Banking at one place makes life easy when it comes to managing your money (bills, loans, mortgages and investments). Operating 1 major  credit card while keeping 1 other in reserve. Other consumer credit cards rarely can provide benefits that are not offered through the major cards. If the credit card you use returns rewards, you will need fewer additional ‘loyalty’ cards. In many cases, you don’t need to carry the actual card as long as you give your phone number to get the ‘member’ price.

Receipts can be bulky. Transfer them to an envelope on a regular basis, date it and file it in case you need to pull a receipt.

Cash….who walks around with wads of cash these days?

Reminders on  little bits of paper are easy to lose. Keep them to a minimum and never write down your PIN number!
