Happy New Year! The holiday season is barely over but it’s not too soon to think about the 2011 holiday season!

This is a great time to do a couple things to set yourself up for next year’s holiday season.

    1. Take an inventory of items like cards, decorations, napkins, christmas crackers and gifts. Check out a store near you to take advantage of deep discounts. Buy them now and put them aside for next year. Leave a note for yourself in your calendar so you don’t forget.
    2. Do a quick tally of what the holiday season cost including treats, gifts, postage, travel and entertainment. Divide by 12 and set up a savings account so that you have the money on hand.
    3. Did you receive any gift cards? Collect them into an envelope and note the store and amount on the outside of the envelope. Keep them somewhere where you will remember to use them.
    4. Return any items you know you won’t use or donate them to an organization that will use them.

    All the best for 2011.
